宮田庄悟 shogo miyata photographer Statement I like to use old film cameras. I believe film photography is different from digital, that it has a unique ability to record forever that ethereal moment. My photography centers mostly on light and shadow. My light and shadow symbolize something fragile. I think everything, including ourselves, is fragile. In our world, it seems nothing lasts, nothing is completed. We are here today, gone tomorrow; much like light and shadow. Those fleeting images of light and shadow remind me of my own life journey. When I take pictures of light and shadow, I feel I can hold on to that passing moment before it, and along with it myself, figuratively dies out. That is why I take pictures. I try to record the very moment I am alive.
